Here is our ultimate guide to mulled wine and/or cider, also with a secret touch to keep you warm and cosy on the cold winter nights.
2 bottle of red wine
1 large cinnamon stick
2 Star anise
Wine Glass or Mug
Add your wine, cinnamon stick (slightly broken up), star anise, cloves and sugar into a large pan. Turn up the heat and stir frequently to ensure the suagr fully dissolves. Do not allow to boil and keep lid on top inbetween stirring. Once up tempurature add in your 2 oranges and lemon all cut into quarters. Keep on the heat for 10-15 minutes and taste, if all flavours are prominant turn the heat off and allow to cool down with the lid still on, before straininng squeeze all the citrud to get the juices, then bottle and seal. Can be stored in the fridge for 1 month. To prepare, heat what you need before pouring into a mug or wine glass.
The recipe is the same for Cider taking 1.5 litres of cider and sugar to taste.
